My "Which Came First, the Chicken or the Egg?" Debate

After having made numerous attempts in the past to start a blog and never having much success in getting over writers block, I finally decided to give it another go. So here it goes...

Like all good blogs, you need a catchy title or phrase to tingle people’s curiosity. From one perspective, it’s merely a combination of words. But, this is the combination of words that will from now on, represent the topics in which I will cause strain to your eyes with, possibly add a few inches to your waist line with, may cause your liver to hate me, and may just potentially land you in a different city or country all together. So, what combination of words can summarize my love for indulgence in gluttony and travel you ask? It comes down to 3 little words: Wine, Dine &… Flight?!

This is where my “which came first, the chicken or the egg?” debate kicked in. Brainstorming after another long day in the kitchen, three words came stood out for me: Wine, Dine and Fly. My only problem was, what order do these words come in? “Fly, Wine & Dine” (do you fly to a city and then wine and dine), or is it “Wine, Dine & Fly” (do you wine and dine in a city, then leave)?

Then, an epiphany struck! Have you ever experienced traveling to a city, gone out for a late night, enjoyed good food, great drinks, and even better company, then the next morning woken up thinking “$#!%@, my FLIGHT?!”. Or, traveled to a country and fallen so much in love with the food, sights and culture of the place that you questioned whether you really had to get back on that flight. Well, I’ve definitely had my share of both those experiences.

Hopefully, this blog will bring to you pieces of my experiences from travels, indulgences in food and drinks, and maybe even some experiments in the kitchen. I hope this will inspire some of you to eat more, drink more, travel more, or even just cook up a storm in your own kitchen, or maybe once in a while, raid your own liquor cabinet to experiment with new drinks.

Cheers.
